How to clean and care for your swimsuit so it lasts for years

Rinse your swimsuit after every use
Salt, chlorine, sand, and sunscreen can gradually damage the fibers of your swimsuit. After every swim, rinse it thoroughly in clean cold water, even if you don't plan to wash it right away.
Wash it gently by hand
Hand washing remains the best way to preserve the fabric's elasticity and softness.
Use:
- Cold or lukewarm water
- A small amount of mild soap or gentle detergent
Avoid:
- Hot water
- Bleaching products
- Harsh detergents
Let it soak for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly.
Never wring out your swimsuit
After washing, do not wring it out. This can stretch the fibers and distort the cut.
Simply press out the excess water between your hands or in a clean towel.
Let it air dry
Let your swimsuit dry flat or hanging in a shaded, well-ventilated area.
Avoid:
- The tumble dryer
- Prolonged direct exposure to the sun
- Radiators or other heat sources
Excessive heat can damage the elastic fibers and speed up fading.
Watch out for rough surfaces
Carvico fabric is designed to last, but repeated contact with abrasive surfaces such as concrete, certain rocks, or pool edges can cause friction and pilling.
When possible, sit on a towel to protect your swimsuit.
Avoid storing it while damp
Never leave your damp swimsuit in a closed bag for several hours. This can lead to odors and damage the fibers.
